Why use engineered boards or ply based flooring?

Cut Diamond wood flooring has an impressive range of Engineered and Ply based flooring. Our Engineered boards are: Jive, Woodland, Emerald and Montana. Our Ply based flooring is Next Step,Giant and Aspect.

An engineered board has three layers which gives it rigidity and resistance to the  atmosphere  due to its  resiliant middle and bottom layers that are either pine or birch.  Enviroments  ideal for  engineered flooring include conservatories that absorb large amounts of heat and need flooring that will not expand. Our range of Jive and Woodland are square -edged while the Emerald and Montana range have bevelled edges.Square-edged flooring minimises the joins between each board creating a seamless transition of wood planks across the wood floor.Bevelled engineered boards are more appropriate for that rustic feel of traditional hardwood flooring. With engineered boards the bottom layer and top layer run the same way.The middle layer involves sections of wood that run in the opposite direction and have small expansion gaps .You cannot secretly nail an engineered board and it must be laid on an underlay.Engineered boards are more economical than a ply based wood flooring.Underlay provides significant sound dampening qualities and insulates the surrounding area.In addition the physical barrier created by the underlay provides comprehensive protection from damp rising above your sub-floor.

Our ply based boards are: Next Step, Giant and  Aspect. The hardwood is glued on top of the ply-wood.This boards are  extremely stable and strong and   this is necessary especially  for the Aspect range as the  boards are of a magnificent length and depth. You can secretly nail a ply wood board and ply is as stable as a  solid floor. With such large boards in our Range the ply base affirms the security required when laying such long boards. The boards can be laid on an underlay or fully glued.

The Giant boards,  Next Step, Emerald & Woodland are all tongue and groove. Whilst the Teka and  Jive  are a lock system.
